Oyster Cans

These collectible metal cans captured our nations rich history in the seafood industry, each with their own unique promotional artwork. Oyster cans were used from the late 1800s to the early 1990s as a way to preserve and advertise their contents. Most cans were produced for oyster packers in the Chesapeake Bay region and its tributaries, beginning in Baltimore, MD, and were later produced for packers across the U.S.
